Description
35 Hamilton Drive in Glasgow is a three-storey classical terrace designed by Alexander Thomson around 1869. The building features Greek detailing and consists of 27 bays. It is constructed from polished ashlar stone, with a channelled ground floor. The eastern bays have double and triple anta pillared doorpieces that are linked by pilastrade. The structure includes a cornice, disc frieze, antefixae, and acroteria.
The windows are sash and case with plate glass. There is a band course at the ground floor level, along with a cill band and a frieze band course. The first floor has a cill band with two-thirds of the windows linked, featuring lugged architraves that are slightly advanced, along with a cornice, frieze, and palmettes. The second floor also has a cill band with pilaster architraved windows and a linking frieze at two-thirds of the height. The building is topped with a plain entablature and cornice, and it has axial stacks.
