Description
21 Banavie Road in Glasgow is a long terrace of three houses, likely designed by Thomas Binnie, and begun around 1868. The terrace consists of 2-storey and basement houses with three bays each and features classical details, though the detailing is plain. The front is made of polished ashlar with a channelled ground floor, while the rear elevation is partly painted squared rubble.
Houses numbered 19 and 21 have two bays with tripartite bays that project forward, while houses numbered 1 to 17 are arranged in a stepped slope across three-bay sections, totaling 27 bays. House number 37 features a single-storey recessed porch on the second northern return elevation. The windows are primarily sash and case with plate glass. There is a band course at ground floor level and a moulded cill band on the first floor, along with architraved windows and an eaves cornice. The roof is slate, with skews and axial stacks. The south return has five bays, including a canted bay.
