22 Hamilton Park Avenue, Hillhead, Glasgow

6 Hamilton Park Avenue in Glasgow is a long terrace of two-bay terraced houses built around 1859-1860. The buildings are two storeys high, with attics and basements, and feature polished ashlar stone, which is partly stone-cleaned or painted, with a channelled finish at the ground level.

To the right, there are steps leading down to recessed tripartite doorpieces, with timber pilasters flanking the doors and glazed side and fanlights. At Nos 22-28, the doorpieces are also tripartite, featuring double-leaf panelled doors, with fanlights only above the vestibule doors. Above these doors, there is a single light architraved window with four-pane glazing.

On the left side, there is a two-storey canted bay window, with the front light divided by a stone mullion. The buildings have a moulded band course at the cills and a mutule cornice. The plate glass sash windows are complemented by a continuous band course at the first-floor cills and a plain main cornice, which has a mutule over the bays. The terrace features a deep plain parapet, which is balustraded over the bays.

There is a variety of dormer shapes, and the buildings have corniced axial stacks with plain flues and slate roofs. The rear of the houses is finished in stugged ashlar, and Nos 22-28 have an attic storey at the back. Some decorative cast-iron railings for the steps and gardens remain, although they are damaged at Nos 10-20.
