7 Oakfield Avenue is a three-storey and basement astylar terrace of tenements built around 1859, featuring four-storey terminal pavilions. The building has a total of 30 bays arranged in a pattern of 8-15-7, with a nine-bay flank facing Glasgow Street that is similarly detailed. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with a channelled design at the ground level, and has been stone cleaned.

The pavilions are highlighted by Roman Doric doorpieces adorned with dentil moulding. All upper windows are framed with architraves, and there is a dentil cornice above the first floor, extending to the second floor at the pavilions. The sash windows primarily feature four-pane glazing. A continuous band course with dentil moulding runs between the floors, complemented by an eaves course and cornice. The building includes axial and wallhead stacks, and the roofs are covered with slate. Notably, bipartite windows are irregularly placed at the fourth bay of the right pavilion and at the fourth, fifth, and ninth bays of the flank facing Glasgow Street.
