Description

The Parish Church on Castle Street in Tayport has its south wall and parts of the gables dating back to 1794, which includes a tablet commemorating Rev Dr Dalgleish and a sundial. The remainder of the church was rebuilt in 1825. The 1794 construction features whin ashlar, while the 1825 work is made of pinned whin rubble, both adorned with sandstone dressings. A leaning tower, which projects from the center of the north wall, contains 17th century armorial stones and sits atop the Scotscraig Vault. The church retains its original Gothic glazing in the north wall and gables, and it has a slated roof.
