Description
Innergellie House, rebuilt in 1740, is a provincial baroque building of unusual character. It features a two-storey and attic structure, with the northern front having three storeys in an L-plan layout. The northern front is constructed of ashlar stone and includes a central Ionic pilastered doorpiece, with a pedimented Ionic aedicule above that contains a 1650 armorial stone. There is a niche with a figure and a segmental pediment above it. On either side of the entrance, there are three windows, with the central first-floor window featuring keyblocked niches, keyblocked circular windows, and pediments above. The corners are accentuated with channelled Ionic angle pilasters. The front has five windows, with the central window being an arched staircase window, and a plain harled parapet above.
The southern end of the building is pedimented and gabled, featuring Venetian windows. There is also an octagonal tower in the re-entrant angle. Inside, the house boasts fine interior work, including a Corinthian pilastered dining room and baroque chimneypieces.
