Description
Freuchie Mill is a large cornmill, dated 1840, built on the site of an earlier mill from 1762. The 1840 structure is four storeys high with a five-storey kiln topped by a pyramidal roof. The building is constructed of whinstone with freestone dressings, featuring piended slate and pantile roofs. A water wheel has been removed, and the building has undergone considerable alteration and addition in recent times. The mill is of group value, making a positive contribution to the surrounding area. While retaining some impressive features, the building has suffered from later alterations. The statutory address is Freuchie Mill.
