Description

Lochlea, located at The Loch Houses in Ceres, is a group of buildings dating from the late 18th century to the mid-19th century.

The eastmost cottage is a detached, single-storey structure set at an angle to the road. It features a rubble exterior that is partly stuccoed, a pantiled roof, and a brick and pantile lean-to outhouse.

The eastern row consists of three single-storey cottages with roofs that slope towards the ground. The eastmost cottage is made of droved ashlar, while the other two are constructed from whin coursers with droved dressings. These cottages have pantiled roofs, with the westernmost one featuring slate skirting and a modern porch.

The western row is made of single-storey whin rubble with droved dressings and has a pantiled roof with a piended design. The eastern pair of cottages in this row are built from droved ashlar.
