12 West Holmes Gardens, Musselburgh

26 West Holmes Gardens in Musselburgh is a single storey and attic terrace building, constructed around 1900 by William Constable. The outer bays feature gabled roofs and two-storey sections with full height canted windows. The building is faced with red ashlar, while the return and rear walls are made of brick.

The entrance includes pairs of 2-leaf panelled doors, although the door for No. 4 has been altered. The ground floor windows are bipartite, with two symmetrically placed canted windows at Nos. 5 and 10. Dormer windows under the gables are either one or two-light. All windows have plate-glass lower sashes, with the upper sashes originally being multi-pane.

Each gable showcases a timber king-post detail, and the two-storey gabled bays feature pierced barge-boards. The slate roofs are swept over the single storey section and are finished with red ridge tiles.
