57 Eskside West in Musselburgh is an early 19th-century building consisting of two single-storey houses with attics and a basement. Each house is symmetrical, featuring a central door flanked by two windows. The roofs are slate, and the walls are made of squared rubble with slightly projecting base courses and raised margins around the windows and doors. Each house has two square piended dormers located just above the eaves. The original fanlights are still present above the doors, while the windows have been reglazed and include both single and double pane sashes.
