Description
The Manager's House at Waterside Creamery, located at 16 Main Road, is a former carding mill built in 1784. It consists of a three-storey, eight-bay mill to the southwest, a three-storey, three-bay former store in the center, and a two-storey, three-bay former manager's house to the northeast. The mill features squared and snecked rubble with red sandstone dressings, while the store and the manager's house are finished with white render. There are forestairs leading to first-floor doors for both the mill and the store, and the building is regularly fenestrated.
The former mill and store have sash and case windows, whereas the manager's house has non-traditional Upvc windows. Both the former store and the manager's house have small gablehead stacks with circular cans. The roofs have straight skews and are covered with graded grey slates.
