Description
Standalane Lodge is a late 18th century to early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay T-plan house featuring a later projecting entrance porch. It has separate single-storey gabled wings that create a U-plan courtyard. The entrance elevation is finished in sandstone ashlar, while the rear is constructed from rubble, with painted margins. The building includes a base course, band course, and moulded eaves. There is also a later single-storey extension and a conservatory to the south.
The windows are predominantly replacement four-pane timber sash and case. The roof has raised skews and is covered with grey slates, with a gable stack located to the south.
Inside, as of 2008, the interior has been comprehensively altered, but a curved staircase with decorative iron balusters and a timber banister remains.
The projecting wings to the left are made of white painted rubble with black margins, also covered with grey slates and featuring raised skews and gable stacks. These wings have been converted into housing as of 2008. To the right, there is rubble with a triangular pigeon-loft in the attic, which is currently used as a garage as of 2008.
