Description

1 Queensberry Terrace in Cummertrees is a large and extravagant Edwardian seaside terrace designed by Frank C Carruthers of Lockerbie and Dumfries around 1900. The building stands three storeys tall and is constructed of red brick, featuring a mix of advanced and recessed bays. It has both wide and narrow gables adorned with elaborate half-timbering and balconies. The overall composition is subtle, with various house designs creating an irregular yet symmetrical effect, including inner and outer gables and two bays topped with ogee roofs. The terrace is finished with corniced stacks and slated roofs.
