8 Claremont Crescent, Edinburgh

15 Claremont Crescent in Edinburgh is a terraced crescent of 15 houses designed by William Burn in 1823. The building is two stories tall, with an attic and basement, and features 45 bays, with three bays for each house. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar, showcasing rustication at the ground level. The design includes a base course, a band course between the floors, recessed aprons on the first floor, a cornice, and a blocking course. The entrance steps and platforms are made of ashlar and extend over the basement.

On the principal elevation, there are timber panelled doors with fanlights in every third bay, while the remaining bays have windows. The fenestration is regular above, with paired dormers on houses 7, 9, 12, and 21, single dormers on houses 11 and 15, and full-width dormers on houses 8, 10, 18, and 19. The windows are timber sash and case, predominantly featuring 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are stacks with terracotta cans. The property is also adorned with fleur-de-lys headed cast-iron railings.
