Description
The Police Call Box on Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh was designed by Ebeneezer J. MacRae, A Rollo, and J Tweedie between 1930 and 1931. This standard Edinburgh police box is a classical rectangular structure made of cast iron, measuring 6 feet by 4 feet in plan. It features two long elevations with pilasters, one of which has a door that displays the city arms. The short elevations each have a single bay and are topped with triangular open pediments that feature ribbon-boned wreath decorations. All elevations are adorned with saltire patterned glazing, and the low-pitched roof retains the original lamp.
