Description
1 and 3 Comely Bank in Edinburgh were built between 1888 and 1889 to meet the elevation requirements set by R R Anderson, who was the feuing architect for the Fettes Trustees. The design is intended to harmonise with the work of Thomas Brown. The building is three stories high with an attic and features a three-window and canted bay facing Comely Bank, and a two-window facade on East Fettes Avenue. It is constructed from ashlar stone with a channelled ground floor and has a pavilion roof with a dormer. There is a lower wing at the back of the building.
