Description
The Dovecot at Carloonan, part of the Inveraray Castle Estate, was built between 1747 and 1748 and designed by architect Roger Morris, with William Douglas as the mason. This circular structure features two storeys and a basement, finished with harled walls and topped by a conical slate roof. At the top, there is a small lantern with entrance holes. The building has a moulded eaves course and a string course. Access to the upper floors is provided by doors, while the basement has a dressed stone doorway that is domed and includes a fireplace.
