Description
St Columba's United Presbyterian Church in Southend was built in 1889 and designed by Robert Hay from Glasgow. It is constructed in a Georgian style and has an oblong shape. The front and sides are made of snecked rubble, while the rear is harled. The church features a piended slate roof, round-headed windows, and oculi. At the front, there is a projecting central pavilion topped with a belfry that has an ogee stone cap and a ball finial, which is inset with the date '1889'. A large window with a lunette is also present. The interior is plain and includes a gallery.
Outside, near the front, there are two square pillars made of ashlar and rendered, featuring deep recesses.
