Description
The Dovecot at Mains of Edzell is a square plan structure built from rubble and white-washed. It features turrets at diagonally opposite corners, although the roofs have been swept away. On the west face, there is a doorway with a panel above it, and a moulding that runs around the entire structure. There are also ruins of a later northern compartment that was built at an angle to the original dovecot. This building likely dates back to around 1600.
