Description
Blunk Neuk is a house dating from 1789, comprising a single-storey and attic west part and a single-storey east part. The exterior is harled with raised cills. The west part has a central dormer to the rear, three windows (two original 12-pane sash and case windows, one altered with a raised cill level), and a small gable attic window. The east part features four modern windows to the front and a door with two outshots. A modern porch has been added to the centre. The roof is stone-slated, with one original stone chimney stack and one rebuilt in brick.
The building was used as a licensed grocer’s premises during the 19th century. The property sits within Letham Den, a geographically separate small community which once included saw and flour mills. The mill lade runs beneath the garden of the property. Information for this listing was provided by Mr Robert J Kennedy.
