Description
The grain kiln at Haughend Croft in Finzean dates from the late 18th to early 19th century and was restored in 1986 by R Callander, a Master Dyker and Drystane Dyker. It features a circular plan and is built into the north-facing slope to the north of Haughend. The walls are made of pink granite rubble with a battered design. At the base of the kiln, there is a rubble-walled flue to the north, topped with a stone lintel. A granite and earth ramp leads to the south, providing access to the top of the kiln.
