Description

Linton House is a small mansion built around 1835 by Archibald Simpson. It is a two-storey building with a low first floor, featuring a severe classic harled exterior with granite dressings and a low-pitched, broad-eaved roof. The design showcases a masterful asymmetrical composition that includes symmetrical elements. The main section has three windows, with the ground floor windows supported by consoles. The center of this section projects forward and includes a round-arched porch and a canted bay to the north. The southern part of the house is lower and U-shaped, presenting a symmetrical front.
