Description

Glenbervie House is a large, three-storey oblong building of the 18th century, constructed with harl (roughcast) plaster and a slate roof. It features a vaulted basement and circular towers at the corners of the symmetrical east front. The northernmost tower has a pennant stone dated 1762, while the southernmost tower was remodelled in 1854, including the addition of a bartizan (turret), during a period when the entire house was significantly altered and a west wing was added. The south tower was restored to its original form in 1965.
