429 Union Street, Aberdeen

441-443 Union Street in Aberdeen is a 1932-1933 cinema designed by A Marshall Mackenzie, based on earlier plans by Clement George from 1927-1931. The building is three stories tall and features an asymmetrical design with a steel frame and a polished granite front. Above the central canopied entrance, there are three tall windows on the second and third floors, with small sculpted panels above that display the inscription 'CAPITOL' and a simplified Art-Deco pediment. The cinema is flanked by two bays on the left and three bays on the right, with shops located at 429 and 433 on either side of the entrance. There is also a door leading to a store above shop 433. The side and rear walls of the building are made of brick.

Inside, the auditorium has been divided horizontally, with a nightclub located upstairs and a bar/restaurant below. The original proscenium arch has been retained.
