Description

Detached three-bay single-storey with attic-storey rendered house, built c.1930, with oversized central dormer to front roof pitch. Rectangular on plan facing west with gable-ended two-bay return to rear, added c.1950. Hipped, artificial red slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles and a pair of tall redbrick chimneystacks with cement coping and terracotta pots. Terracotta ball finial to front gable and rear return gable, with cast-iron rainwater goods to timber box fascia. Ruled-and-lined cement rendered walling with plinth course. Square-headed window openings and concrete sills with timber casement windows (unless otherwise stated). Square-headed door openings with timber panelled and glazed doors. Symmetrical three-bay front elevation with oversized central dormer to front pitch. Replacement timber casement window to dormer and original tripartite timber casement windows to ground floor with pronounced transom. Central door opening with vertically-panelled timber door having 6-pane leaded coloured glazed panel. Door is flanked by pair of ocular openings and fixed-pane steel windows. Door opens onto two concrete steps to gravel front path through raised front garden. North side elevation incorporates side elevation to return with a single square-headed window having single-pane timber sliding sash window. East rear elevation comprises single window opening to rear elevation of main house with a gabled elevation to return having two window openings to ground floor and a further window opening to the attic-storey. Single-pane timber sliding sash windows to main house and to attic, with replacement timber casement windows to ground floor of return. South side elevation is two windows wide to the main house with pair of original bipartite timber casement windows, while the set back return has a single door opening with vertically-sheeted timber door with glazed panel and a square-headed window opening with single-pane timber sliding sash window. Door opens onto gravel rear area which descends into rear yard. Setting:- Front raised lawn is enclosed to the road by a hedge on ditch with a central gravel footpath descending four concrete steps to a wrought-iron gate on concrete piers. Rear yard has a pair of corrugated iron structures and a later timber structure arranged around the north, east and south sides of the yard.
