42-52 Joy Street comprised part of a two-storey terrace built in the nineteenth century. The buildings have been demolished and replaced with social housing. The terrace was initially surveyed during the First Survey but was not included in the list of protected buildings. This partial record was created during the Second Survey. The buildings were originally used as houses. They are now demolished, and the site has been redeveloped. The terrace as a whole does not possess architectural or historical interest worthy of listing.
