Description
This is a former stone road-over-river bridge situated in the centre of Banbridge, spanning the River Bann and carrying Bridge Street. The original stone arch and abutments of the bridge remain, however the original carriageway has been replaced with a modern concrete deck, which obscures the original structure. Due to this significant alteration, the bridge is not considered to possess sufficient merit to warrant a full survey. It has not been formally listed for its architectural or historical interest, and the extent of any potential listing is not defined.
