Description
The building is a farmhouse dating to the 16th century, with alterations in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of rubble with roughcast rendering, featuring Bridgwater patents on the front facade and triple Roman tiles on the rear roof. Brick stacks are located at the gable ends, and a stone stack is present to the right of the cross passage.
The original plan consisted of three rooms and a cross passage. The farmhouse is one and a half storeys high, with four bays. It has 6-light mullioned and transomed windows, with gables projecting through the eaves. Ground floor windows include a 5-light leaded casement to the left of the entrance and two 3-light windows to the right. A 20th-century partially glazed door is protected by a stone pentice hood supported on wrought iron brackets. Remnants of 3-light mullions are visible at the rear, reputedly octagonal, along with later additions.
Inside, to the right of the cross passage, is a 5-panel compartment ceiling with moulded beams, one of which is missing. A moulded wooden lintel and moulded stone jambs frame the fireplace.
