Description
The Manor House is an early to mid-18th century house located in Holme. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. The house is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays, arranged in a cross shape, with outshut extensions filling in the rear angles. The central bay projects slightly, and the left return features a three-step approach to a six-panel door set within a quoined surround, topped with a double keystone. All windows are sash windows with flush wood architraves, keyed flat brick arches, and stone sills. The eaves are dentilled. The house has shaped kneelers, a stone coping, end stacks, and the central bay has a hipped roof. The interior includes a dogleg staircase with turned balusters. One room features an eared fire surround with Chinese-Chippendale-style fretwork to the frieze.
