Description
Ewe Cote Hall, dated 1697, features the initials LRH above its entrance doorway. This building is two storeys high with attics and constructed from ashlar. It has five stone mullioned and transomed windows with leaded lights, a central panelled door, and two segmental pedimented stone dormers with mullioned windows. The roof is covered with pantiles.
Inside, the hall retains several contemporary features, including a solid panelled staircase and a room to the right that has heavy bolection moulded panelling, an original fireplace surround, white Delft tiles, and an iron fireback. There are two similar rooms upstairs at the front. The garden slopes upwards from the house and includes a stepped paved walk leading to the front door, which consists of six panels, two of which are glazed.
All the listed buildings along Guisborough Road, Ewe Cote, form a group.
