Description

Church Cliff Farmhouse, built in the early 19th century and later altered, originally comprised two houses arranged at right angles to form an L-shape, with later infill. The farmhouse is constructed of light-red brick in English bond, with stone dressings that are now painted, and has a slate roof with brick stacks.

The south front is symmetrical, with two storeys and five windows. The central entrance features an 8-panelled door recessed within panelled reveals, beneath a radial fanlight and a bracketed porch with fluted pilasters. Sixteen-pane sash windows are present throughout, with stone sills and wedge lintels. Paired modillions are located at the eaves level.

The east front presents a two-storey, six-window facade. A half-glazed and panelled door is centrally positioned to the left, set within a round-arched doorcase with a flat hood supported on consoles. Above this is a round-headed staircase window with radial glazing, set beneath a semi-circular archivolt. Again, sixteen-pane sash windows are present with stone sills and wedge lintels. One window on the right side has been blocked. Stacks pierce the hipped roof.
