Description
The Former Two Lions Public House and integral stables, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, is a two-storey building with roughcast over stone. It features an old moulded doorway with a four-centred head and a studded door, along with a 16-paned sash window on each floor and an additional new window above. To the right, there is an added porch and a gabled wing. On the left side, there is another old doorway with a shaped lintel, leading to the stable and loft. A passage to the rear has an ogee headed opening. The rear of the building includes a blocked stone-mullioned window with a label and a re-used date stone. The stone stables have sash windows, and the interior boasts a fine plaster ceiling adorned with heraldic shields of the Lowther family.
