23 and 24 Roper Street date to the 18th century. The building is faced in stucco and stands three storeys high. A base course features Ionic pilasters at each end, which terminate just below a moulded eaves cornice. The two entrance doors are flanked by Doric pilasters and have broken semi-circular pediments surmounted by three-quarter urns. The door to No. 23 has six raised panels. The building has four windows on the ground floor and six on each of the upper floors, all with plain architraves. A flight of six steps leads to the front entrance, accompanied by cast iron railings. Numbers 19 to 25 Roper Street form a group.
