Description
The Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house located on Marlow Bottom Road, Great Marlow. It is constructed of brick, with the west front featuring a decorative chequer pattern and a first-floor band course. The roof is hipped and covered with old tile, with dentil eaves and two external brick chimneys visible from the roadside. The house has a double pile plan, meaning it has two rows of rooms.
The two-story, three-bay facade features wooden casement windows with single horizontal glazing bars. The east front has a two-light casement to the right bay and a single-light casement to the first floor centre, and a three-light window to the first floor left. A 20th-century French door is situated on the left side of the east front, and a centrally positioned 20th-century glazed door is also present. Ground floor openings on the east front are topped with segmental brick arches. The west front mirrors these features, with a three-light window on the right bay and first floor left; the lower right window has a chequered segmental head. A 20th-century shop extension projects from the ground floor left and centre bays, incorporating a two-panelled door leading to an original central entry lobby. A later 19th-century extension is located at the far end of the west front.
