Description

Bury House is a large house of Cotswold style, built in 1910 on the site of an earlier building. It is two storeys and has an attic set within gabled rooflines, featuring seven windows in total. The construction is of coursed stone, with a Horsham slab roof. A central gabled projection provides a porch, with a room situated above. Smaller gabled projections are located at each end of the house. Casement windows are incorporated throughout. The writer John Galsworthy resided at Bury House from 1929 until his death in 1936, and is commemorated for this association, forming the basis for the building's group value.
