Description
The tower in the grounds of Slindon House, located to the northwest of the house, is a Grade II listed structure. This square tower dates from the 15th century and is the last remnant of the medieval palace of the Archbishops of Canterbury. The lower part of the tower is constructed from sandstone ashlar, while the upper section, likely added later, is faced with flints and has red brick quoins. A modern brick castellated parapet crowns the structure. The south side features pointed casement windows. The tower stands three storeys tall and has one window. To the north of the tower, an 18th-century flint wall connects it to the Lodge of the house.
