Description
This building, originally four separate cottages but now likely two houses, stands on Church Lane in Funtington. Nos 3 and 4 date back to the 16th century, with a timber-frame structure and painted brick infilling. They were altered in the early 19th century (early C19) when the height was increased and a decorative cornice was added to the eaves. Nos 1 and 2 were built in the early 19th century and are constructed of red brick with grey headers. The rear or south wall of the entire building is also of red brick and grey headers. The building has two storeys and five windows. It is roofed with slate and has casement windows. Two wooden porches are present, the one on Nos 1 and 2 incorporating a doorway with a rectangular fanlight.
