Description

This is an early 18th-century farmhouse that was divided into two dwellings in the 19th century and subsequently restored to single occupation in the 20th century. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble walls laid in bands of light and dark stone, with galletting (a type of rendering) using ironstone, and with brick quoins and window dressings. The roof is steeply pitched and was originally thatched, but is now renewed in machine tiles. The front facing the road is two stories high and mostly blank, featuring only two small windows. A one-story pent roof extension is located on the right side, originally serving as a dairy. The garden front features two stories and three windows, with the left bay a rounded bow that extends the full height of the house and has a rounded hip roof above. The windows are two and three-light leaded casements. A modern, two-story extension has been built on the east side and incorporates part of an old stone garden wall. The north-east corner of the building is rounded on the ground floor, with a tile-hung first floor projecting above. Internal features include some exposed beams.
