FIRLE South East Barn, Charleston Farm

2. C16 or C17. Coursed knapped flints, flush red brick quoins. Old tiled roof, half hipped to east end. 6 bays (1 damaged by recent fire). Aisle, tie beams. A good example of a Sussex flint and timber barn, the subject of a number of paintings by Duncan Grant.

The barn forms a group with Charleston house.
