Description

Wiggonholt House, formerly known as Wiggonholt Farmhouse, is a largely symmetrical early 19th-century building closely resembling Springhead Farm in Parham. The house is dated 1811. It is two storeys high with four windows on its front facade. The front is faced with grey headers and white brick dressings, with decorative string courses and long and short quoins. It has wide, overhanging eaves and a hipped slate roof. A small, square wooden bell-turret, containing a bell and topped with a leaden dome, sits centrally on the roof. The original glazing bars remain intact. Two plaques are positioned in the centre of the first floor; one bears the initials S C B and the date 1811, while the other displays the initials C P (Clive Pearson of Parham Park) and the date 1950. A later porch constructed of ashlar has been added to the front. The sides of the house are faced with stone rubble. A circular window is present in the south wall.
