Description

Down Cottage, formerly two cottages, dates from the 18th century. It is situated in Cobbler’s Row. The building is two storeys high and has four windows. The walls are faced with flints, with red brick dressings and quoins. It has a slate roof, and the original glazing bars remain in the windows. A modern window has been inserted at ground floor level towards the south end. A later porch, constructed of flints and red brick, has been added. The southern portion of the building was formerly known as The Homestead.
