Description
Cherry Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from around 1795. It features a two-bay design with an end chimneystack and is constructed from Hythe sandstone rubble, characterized by large end quoins. The roof is tiled and has an end brick chimneystack. The cottage stands two storeys high and has two windows, with 19th-century casements that are cambered on the ground floor. There is a 20th-century porch supported by rustic elements. At the rear, there is a catslide roof with a 20th-century extension built on top, and a lean-to extension on the right side.
Inside, the cottage has a large open fireplace and several old plank doors. The first floor features wattle partitions, and the internal framing is made of unusual rustic poles. The floorboards are also old, adding to the cottage's historic character.
