Description
Fritham Lodge is a house dating to 1671, as indicated by a tablet on the front. The exterior is rendered and painted, with a slate roof. The house is two storeys and an attic, with three bays across the front, the central bay being gabled. The central bay features a half-glazed door. Each side of the front has a 19th-century hip-roofed canted bay. Flanking bays have tripartite French windows. Above the canted bays on the first floor are 12-pane sash windows, and in the flanking bays are Palladian windows. A low parapet is present on the flanking bays, rising to the central gable, which contains two 9-pane sashes and the dated tablet. Ridge stacks are located on each side of the central bays. It may have originally been one of Charles II’s hunting lodges.
