Description

The house at Staveley Park is likely of 17th-century origin, with later alterations. It is built with roughcast render and has a graduated greenslate roof, a stone ridge, and two end chimney stacks with slate drips, along with a third stack at the rear. The building follows a T-plan and is two storeys high, with a single-storey lean-to on the right. It has five windows, arranged irregularly, featuring 19th-century casements, some of which may be in original openings and include small iron opening lights. A two-storey gabled porch has round-headed openings and side benches, with a 20th-century gabled door.

The interior preserves chamfered joists, a fire beam, and the remains of a partition wall. A spiral staircase features wooden treads over an original stone base. According to the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments and Ancient Buildings (RCHM), the first floor contains an ornamental plaster panel with the initials “G & SM” and the date 1661. This panel was not visible during the inspection.
