Description

The District Council Offices, built in the early to mid-18th century, feature a pebbledashed exterior and stand two storeys tall with attics. The building has a cornice and a parapet, topped by a mansard slate roof. A moulded string course runs above the ground floor. There are six ranges of double-hung sash windows that include glazing bars, stone bolection moulded architraves, keystones, and bull-nosed sills. An extension from the early to mid-19th century is rendered and includes an ashlar plinth, quoins, and entablature, along with a brick blocking course and chimney. This extension also has two ranges of modern windows.
