Description

North Trew is a house, originally a small farmhouse, dating to the early 18th century. It is built of rendered cob and rubble walls, with a gable-ended roof covered in thatch at the front and slate at the rear. Two projecting gable-end stacks are constructed of rendered rubble. The building follows a two-room plan with a central entrance, and both rooms were originally heated. A rear outshut was added in the late 19th or early 20th century. The front elevation has a regular two-window arrangement. The first floor has two-light casements, while the ground floor has three-light windows - the left-hand ground floor windows are metal-framed. A gabled timber porch was added in the late 20th century, centred on the front, and contains a wide 19th-century plank door. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey.
