Description
Two walls and a cross shaft are located about 9 meters south of the Church of St John the Baptist. These structures are believed to mark the boundary of a medieval churchyard and date from the late medieval period. They are made of granite and consist of two sections of low wall, with a granite standing cross shaft on the western section. The walls feature low coped granite walling, while the cross shaft is octagonal and tapers with broach stops at the base. It is likely that these walls served as the boundary of the medieval churchyard. An engraving by Spreat from 1842 depicts a taller structure, suggesting that the churchyard on the church side has been raised since that time.
