Description
The stable and granary, located approximately 25 metres southwest of Great Champson Farmhouse, is likely from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a gable-ended scantle-slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan, with the stable on the ground floor and a granary above, accessed by a doorway at the back where the ground level is higher. It is one storey with a loft.
On the exterior, there is a central 19th-century loft window and two ground-floor 20th-century metal casements set in 18th-century openings, which have stone flat-arched heads. These flank a central boarded stable door, also with a stone flat-arched head. A boarded loft door is located at the rear, and there is a large stone rubble raking buttress on the right-hand gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
