Description

Stevens headstone, located about 1 metre east of the east end of the Church of St Peter, dates from 1837 and was created by Carder Watts of Chittlehampton. It is made of slate and features a straight-headed design with incised decoration along the borders and leaf motifs at the top corners. The verse below the inscription reads: "Daily our moral flesh decays But Christ our life shall come And his restless power shall raise Our bodies from the tomb."
