Description
Sheylor's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, constructed of rubble stone with a stone tiled roof, featuring coped gables and end wall stacks. The building is two and a half storeys high and has a five-window range. It has flush quoins and moulded dripcourses over the main floors, although the lower dripcourse is incomplete. The windows are recessed with ovolo-moulded mullions. There are two dormer gables, each containing a two-light window with a hoodmould, along with five first floor two-light windows. The ground floor windows have been replaced on each side by paired 12-pane sash windows. The central entrance features a plank door set in a moulded doorcase. An early 19th-century column porch with a flat hood and cushion capitals adorns the entrance. The south end wall includes a two-light window on each floor, with a hoodmould over the lower window and a dripcourse that continues from the front over the upper window. The rear wall has a central two-light stair window. There is a rear wing that is one storey and has an attic, featuring a part stone-tiled roof and a half hipped east gable.
